The Concert for a Green World

What it is:

The Concert for a Green World (C4GW) is a world music concert which seeks to advance the cause and awareness of the Green movement by bringing together artists (poets, writers, musicians, dancers, orators), who will share their talents to entertain, educate and inform all in attendance.

Who’s doing it:

St. Elmo Village, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) arts organization in collaboration with Universe Soul Records, Global Arts to Go, and TaMar Productions, presents this concert series.  The “Viillage” believes that all people are creative and powerful in their own way. Together we can be a powerful voice calling for change.  For nearly 40 years, the Village, located in Los Angeles, CA, has endeavored to provide a place for people to explore and develop their creativity by providing free art (visual, music, dance, and theatre) workshops, computer classes, and hosting music concerts and a myriad of other events.

Why its important:

The effects of global warming are very real and worsening daily. The problem affects all of us!  As the next generation of consumers, the Youth must be educated and informed so that they can make good sound healthy decisions in all aspects of their lives (diet, health, environment). We all must do our part to ensure that they too have the opportunity to live their lives free of green house glasses and harmful, uncontrolled pollution in the air, water, ground, as well as in our bodies.

Who it’s for:

C4GW is intended for all groups of people because we are all affected by the threat of Global Warming, but the target audience, are the Youth, the socio-economic disadvantaged, individuals unaware of the green movement, and anyone without access to the internet, TV, and other forms of print media.

What it’s all about:

In an effort to bring about awareness through a cultural sense, the goal of C4GW is to provide conscience music, impassioned speakers, and free family-friendly, arts workshops designed to educate, entertain, and enlighten all to the role they can play in the effort to be green. We are using the Arts to teach, stimulate, inspire, and remind us of our collective responsibility as global citizens to protect Mother Earth.

There are three main components that make up C4GW:

1) Music Concert- Universe Soul Records will host the music stage and present various World music artists. The artists and their music reflect the diversity of the people affected by global warming throughout the world.
