In 1971 the Village had it's first, Festival of the Art of Creative Survival. The event was organized to raise the money for the down payment on the Village property. The Festival has continued as a celebration of where we've been, where and who we are. It is a festival of how we have managed to grow as a Village without losing the spirit of who we were in our humble beginnings.
Annual Drums and Jazz During summer months, the Village presents live jazz performances and African drumming. These are popular events, and are always a high energy day.
Poetry in Motion, inspired by Shirlee Ellis Amos. Our annual poetry event celebrates the spoken word and those artists that use words as their medium.
